Villa la Grotta takes its name from the nearby mountain stream "Grotta", which flows down the lower slopes of the Pratomagno Mountains. The spacious Villa is part of a splendid restored “borgo” or village, dating from the late 1700's, which has been completely restored in an elegant Tuscan style incorporating every modern comfort. The Villa, including an adjacent restored farmhouse, contains warm, inviting apartments and rooms, which bear the names of famous Tuscan artists. Villa la Grotta is also within easy reach of the main Tuscan cities, Arezzo is 15 kms away, Florence is 40 kms and Siena is 45kms. Villa La Grotta offers accommodation in 9 apartments and 3 double rooms. The first and second floors of the villa each contain three apartments while the third floor boasts 3 double rooms. Each spacious apartment in the villa is fully fitted out with Tuscan style furniture and consists of a large living room with sofa bed and kitchen corner, double bedroom and at least one bathroom with shower. The double rooms on the third floor are all equipped with a private bathroom. There is also a roof terrace, which is shared by the three double rooms, where guests can relax or dine whilst enjoying the fantastic view over the Chianti hills. The adjacent farmhouse, which has been totally restored, has two more apartments, one of which has disabled access. Each apartment has two bedrooms, bathroom, living room with kitchen corner, sofa bed. All apartments and rooms are equipped with satellite TV, telephone and internet connection.

Living room with kitchen corner and sofa bed, double bedroom with bathroom with shower. It also has a huge balcony, which comfortably holds up to 10 people for dining. While you eat you can enjoy the view over the Chianti hills or watch your friends or family relaxing by the pool.

Spacious living room with kitchen, sofa bed and open fireplace. Situated next to the living room is a large double bedroom with open fireplace and bathroom with shower. This apartment can be connected to Raffaello if two families are holidaying together.

Living room with kitchen corner and sofa bed. Next to the living room there is a double bedroom and bathroom with shower. This apartment can be connected to Michelangelo if two families are holidaying together.

All three of these apartments are located on the second floor and are similar to the apartments on the first floor (Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raffaello). Caravaggio is slightly different having two bedrooms each with its own bathroom with shower. A connecting door can be opened between "Caravaggio" and "Botticelli" for larger groups

These three rooms are located on the third floor of the villa. They are all double rooms equipped with bathroom with shower. There is a roof terrace, which is shared by the three rooms where you can relax or dine whilst enjoying the fantastic views over the Chianti hills.

This apartment is located on the ground floor of the adjacent restored farmhouse. It is fully furnished in Tuscan style and has livingroom/bedroom divided by a small wall and arch. The living room has a kitchen corner and sofa bed. Large bathroom with shower. Outside space with table and chairs for "al fresco" dining. "Giotto" is especially suited to guests with special needs as it has been fully adapted for disabled access having an entry ramp and specially adapted bathroom.

           

Villa la Grotta is within easy reach of the main A1 motorway. Below are directions if arriving from the South (ie Rome direction) or the North (ie Bologna direction). Click on the map above to enlarge it.
From Northern Italy: Take the A1 motorway in the direction of Rome (Roma). Keep going until you have passed Florence (Firenze), then continue for approx another 20 kms and exit at Valdarno . After the pay toll, turn right and follow the signs for Terranuova Bracciolini , when you get to the junction keep left and go under the railway bridge, then take the first exit off the roundabout following signs for San Giustino Valdarno, continue following the signs for approx 15 kms until you get to San Giustino Valdarno , you will then see a sign for Villa La Grotta . Turn left and after approx 1 km, you will see the Villa on your right.
From Southern Italy: Take the A1 motorway in the direction of Florence (Firenze). Exit at Arezzo , then follow directions for Castiglion Fibocchi (alternatively follow signs for the “Strada del Vino” ) for approx 12 kms, after Castiglion Fibocchi continue for approx another 5 kms. When you get to San Giustino Valdarno you will see signs for Villa la Grotta, follow the signs and after approx 1 km you will see the villa on your right.
