This big wood is enclosed between the gentle slopes of the Tuscan-Emilian Appennines, with easy trails that anyone can enjoy, and the harsher chain of the Apuan Alps which are more in tune with the sportier types. The Apuan Alps Park tourist office in Castelnuovo, has all information you need about natural heritage. On the eastern slopes the Orecchiella Park opens its doors to families and kids to show them deers, mouflons, falcons, european bears and a beautiful botanical garden replete with mountain flora. All this is enhanced by a visitor centre open to the public. Lakes, woods, trails and hidden corners such as Campocatino, Orto di Donna, the Arni Valley (white-marble quarries), the Omo Morto (Gruppo delle Panie), the Grotta del Vento ( Wind’s Cave ) have marked trails that everyone can enjoy. For mountain-biking, trekking and horse riding lovers, there is a variety of marked trails.
Art and culture
Old fortified villages and castles, Della Robbia ceramics, old stylized sculptures of our Ligurian Apuanian ancestors, the “Maggio” played outdoor, the museums of ethnography, of the chestnut, of the plaster figurines, the historical pageantry, the houses of Pascoli and Puccini, the marble… promise a stay that will inform you with our unique past.

Only 2 Km. from Castelnuovo di Garfagnana ( pub, restaurant, pizzerie, bank, hospital, supermarket, chemist’s shop, tennis court) , and only 10 minutes drive to a golf-course and riding-school. New 2007 included in the price: normally on Wednesday one-day trip ( in high season period ) with our guide to discover some places of Garfagnana Valley ( Campocatino, Orecchiella Park, San Pellegrino, etc.) . Every family with their car and on lunch a taste of typical products of the valley and of our farm ( farro, salami, cheese, vegetables, cakes, red Tuscan wine, coffe etc.). How to get here...
From Castelnuovo Garfagnana, after Carabinieri barrack, follow S.R. 445 for Camporgiano; after about 2 km take to the left at the sign for Antisciana and Agriturismo La Palazzina. After 500 meters follow the road marked “La Palazzina”. You are arrived.
