Art and culture: Tuscany is known throughout the world for its wealth of works of art, monuments and museums. Florence is undoubtedly the most well known city, but others of equal beauty and importance are: Siena for the famous Palio horse race, Pisa for the Leaning Tower, Chianti for its prized wines. While the medieval hamlets are smaller, they are very beautiful and evocative: San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Volterra, Pienza.
Nature: Warmly coloured fertile hills, stretches of sunflowers, vineyards, olives, cypresses, where early "pievi" or small churches, medieval hamlets, typical farmhouses lie in wait to be discovered. The Maremma Natural Park lies in the shelter of the Uccellina mounts and was one Italy's first ever protected areas.
Sea:The Versilia, with its beach stretching for miles, is one of Italy's most renowned and popular marine areas, as are the coasts of the Argentario
Thermal springs: Tuscany is essentially the region with the greatest population of thermal zones in all of Italy, offering a vast range of premises with natural springs, pools, warm water and health and beauty spas. The most famous thermal springs zone is Montecatini Terme in Pistoia.
Sport: Tuscany has pools, stables and golf courses for sports holiday lovers. Tuscany is ideal for cycle-tourists and trekking and sailing enthusiasts.
